Job Description

The primary responsibility is to manage and improve the overall experience of consumers on all marketing websites.  This includes planning, managing and optimizing the overall content, design and user experience for the websites while aligning with brand standards.  Work closely with the broader marketing team (brand, inquiry generation, PR, social, student relations, etc.) to recommend, plan and execute tests, content and design updates, and other initiatives to enhance the consumer experience and increase conversion rates on websites.



  • Map, define and monitor the long and short-term strategy for the websites’ user experience.
  • Develop and manage the editorial and testing calendars for the desktop and mobile websites in collaboration with the other marketing teams.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data to understand each of the elements that constitute the consumer experience on and off the websites (from impression to visit to inquiry to enrollment.)
  • Use business analytics and intelligence to provide insight to all relevant stakeholders to create and drive change to improve the consumer experience.
  • Define consumer experiences for each channel, and collaborate with other business partners to influence and drive solutions to enhance the throughput of our websites.
  • Develop segmentation strategies to deliver personalized consumer experiences.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to define testing methodologies and develop, launch and evaluate results of new tests and targets.
  • Initiate and manage user research, design deliverables and usability testing as needed.
  • Optimize sites and consumer experiences by closely analyzing user engagement performance metrics and testing alternative design solutions.
  • Identify new ways to leverage best practices for inquiry generation through new designs and optimization tests.
  • Ensure that the design and usability testing process is understood and followed across the development process throughout the organization, promote customer centric design and ensure usability considerations are in the front and center of product decisions.
  • Works closely with other members of the digital marketing team on data analysis, testing methodology, SEO and technical execution.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to user experience design, prototyping, information architecture and usability testing.
  • Work within the marketing department to ensure online digital efforts are aligned with the colleges overall marketing objectives, and brand and legal compliance requirements.
  • Manage and mentor a team of direct reports, providing coaching and educational opportunities to support employee and team growth.
  • Manage external vendor relationships and other resources as needed to deliver on goals


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent industry experience required.
  • 7+ years of experience in the digital marketing arena with an emphasis on online optimization, user experience, data analytics and marketing performance measurement.
  • 4+ years’ experience managing a team of direct reports.
  • Experience interpreting data analytics to derive business insights and drive consumer value.
  • Experience creating and managing to an editorial/content and test calendars/roadmaps.
  • Solid understanding of mobile, mobile technologies and responsive design.
  • Experience with testing and optimization software, such as Adobe Test & Target,  Maxymizer, Optimizely, etc.
  • Experience with web analytics software such as Google Analytics 360 (preferred), Adobe Analytics, Webtrends etc.
  • Experience in design and wireframing software tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, Dreamwaver, Axure, Balsamiq, InDesign, OmniGraffle, Mockflow etc. a huge plus.
  • Good understanding of website information architecture and internet technologies.
  • Expertise with industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures for UX, design and testing.
  • Knowledge of multimedia, video, audio, and production tools a plus.
  • Proven initiative and ability to advance projects while managing multiple initiatives/priorities.
  • Ability to interact with clients at all levels within the organization and work in a fast paced environment.
