September, 2011 The Chicago Interactive Marketing Association (CIMA) recently had the opportunity to give back to the academic community in the form academic scholarships for four Chicago-based students. CIMA’s 2011 scholarship recipients are: Jiani Zhang of Northwestern University, Medill School; Payel Bhattacharya of Northwestern University, Medill School; Christopher Millichap of Northwestern University, Medill School; and Salim Rowe of University of Illinois in Chicago. The students will be formally recognized at a CIMA industry dinner in November. These four individuals stood out from a number of outstanding candidates. CIMA’s Director of Academic Affairs, Maricel Quianzon, and the rest of CIMA’s board members are proud to recognize and reward exceptional students in our community. Originally allocating funding for three students, CIMA selected these four students among 60 outstanding applicants for prestigious scholarships that will impact each student's college endeavors. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who have demonstrated academic success, displayed drive for pursuing a career in digital marketing industry, and applied their interactive studies by showing leadership within the interactive marketing community.
Part of CIMA’s mission is to support and contribute to the community in the form of education. We look forward to supporting the professional success of these four talented students in the coming years.
